When it comes to scientific discoveries , not all of them are beautiful . "You can not make an omelette without breaking some eggs " , as some people say . One of the most severe cases , it is the famous experiment " decerebrate cat" ( brainless Cat ) . The experiment was a cat that had most of his brain removed, except for a small section of the brain stem. The scientists then put the cat on a treadmill. They found that even when he was missing most of his brain , the animal was still able to demonstrate various gait patterns.
